After a disappointing 6-10 season, Vegas oddsmakers consider the Miami Dolphins a real long shot to win next year’s Super Bowl.
Just hours after the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LII with a thrilling 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots, vegasinsider.com already has published the odds for next year’s champion, and the Dolphins are currently being given 75-1 odds to win Super Bowl LIII.
The Patriots (5/1), Eagles (8/1), Green Bay Packers (10/1) and Pittsburgh Steelers (10/1) are getting the best odds. The Minnesota Vikings are being given 12/1 odds.
The game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Feb. 3, 2019.
The Dolphins lost eight of their final 10 games this past season and missed the playoffs for the eighth time in the last nine years. They haven’t won a postseason game in 18 years, dating back to a 23-17 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 30, 2000.
The Dolphins have eight picks in the upcoming NFL draft, including No. 11 in the first round, No. 43 in the second and No. 75 in the third. They also have two fourth-round picks (107 and 128), the last of which comes from last October’s trade that sent Jay Ajayi to the Eagles.
The Dolphins have a tough schedule next season, having to face three of the four teams that advanced to this year’s conference championship games: the Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars and Vikings. They also visit the Packers.
The Dolphins’ other two AFC East foes — the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets — are getting 100-1 and 150-1 odds, respectively.
